Vision TestsAs part of a job applicant's demonstration of how he or she would actually do the job, the applicant may be tested about the ability to read labels or distinguish objects. The EEOC has determined that this type of evaluation would not constitute a medical examination. On the other hand, it would be a prohibited pre-offer medical inquiry for an employer to require an applicant to submit to an ophthalmologist's or optometrist's analysis of the applicant's vision. |
