The Occupational Safety and Health Administration Definition


The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) ensures safe and health working conditions for American workers by promulgating workplace, safety and health standards, and enforcing compliance by inspecting places of employment. It also provides consultation, training, education and information for employers and employees to promote voluntary compliance to achieve safe and healthful workplaces. Matching grants are provided to help states in administering and enforcing occupational safety and health programs.
