It is the policy of ABC, in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, to hire only those individuals who can legally work in the United States. Therefore, at the time of hire, all employees will be required to produce proof of employment eligibility and identification, and complete and sign the I-9 form designated by the Immigration and Naturalization Service for employment certification. A. All hires must complete the I-9 requirements no later than the start of their first day of work. B. The completion of this form and the verification of all documents can only be done in person. Mail-in forms do not comply with the requirements of the law. C. Human Resources Office will retain the completed Form I-9 along with copies of supporting documents as provided by the act. D. Failure to satisfy the requirements of the Act or failure to timely complete the I-9 form will delay the paycheck of the new employee and will result in suspension and/or termination of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986 (P.L. 99-603).
