OSHA Ergonomics Rules

The Clinton Administration's massive ergonomics regulations were overturned by the Bush Administration, soon after taking office. OSHA’s concern with the ergonomic injuries has certainly not gone away. In August 20002, OSHA unveiled its plan designed to “dramatically reduce ergonomic injuries through a combination of industry-targeted guidelines, tough enforcement measures, workplace outreach, advanced research, and dedicated efforts to protect Hispanic and other immigrant workers.” The first industry-targeted guidelines, Draft Guidelines for Nursing Homes, were issued on August 30,2002.
