Enforcement Of ADA

Title I of the ADA incorporates by reference the enforcement provisions of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Therefore, the rights and remedies available to individuals who have been discriminated against on the basis of disability generally are the same as those available to individuals who have been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Also, as with enforcement of Title VII, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (''EEOC'') is the lead federal agency for regulation and enforcement of Title I of the ADA in the private sector.
